First Motoring Experience: Italjet 50cc Motocross bike received from parents for 6th birthday (best birthday present ever).

First Motoring Retirement: Italjet 50cc Motocross bike, blown engine during race down Hangar Straight at Silverstone with unknown Honda Monkey bike (aka "the enemy") after 1981 British Motorbike GP (Age 6).

First Motoring Injury: Italjet 50cc Motocross bike. Broke right foot/ ankle in 7 places (Age 6).

First Motoring Lesson: 2 wheels always come off worse than 4. Learnt after my school chum Simon Hughes creamed into me in his go-kart at a friends birthday party (see injury above).

Best Race:                   Winning the Pre-1960 Invitation class in the Historic Race at the 2004 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, beating (amongst others) ex F1 driver Johnny Herbert in his Jaguar D Type.

    • 1938 Mercedes Benz W154 - the ultimate pre-war Grand Prix car.
    • 1950 BRM V16 - what might have been......Worth having just for the noise!
    • 1967 Ferrari 330/P4 - simply the sexiest racing car ever.
    • 1970 McLaren M8F CanAm - 8.4 litre Chevy, 850hp, 900 kg. My kind of car.....
    • 1999 McLaren F1 GTR - Le Mans winner,6 Litre V12, 240mph. A proper Sports Racer!

Motorsport Heroes:   

    •  Archie Scott-Brown - for his will to win in the face of personal disability and prejudice from the establishment, and for putting the Lister marque firmly on the map.     
    • Stirling Moss - the maestro.
    • Mario Andretti - World Champion (F1 Car), Indy 500 Winner (Champ Car), Daytona 500 Winner (NASCAR), Daytona 24 Hour Winner (Sportscar), Pikes Peak Winner (Hillclimb Car), Multiple Midget Champion (Midget/ Dirt Cars). The most versatile racing driver ever?
    • Barry Sheene - True Brit Grit!

Motoring Ambitions:

    • To participate in a 24 Hour race (Le Mans would be nice....).
    • To always give of my best.
